EARN COLLEGE CREDIT IN HIGH SCHOOL

In the program's second year, 120 incoming 9th grade PVUSD students across two High School sites will have the opportunity to earn transferable college credit in an early college pathway program with dual enrollment courses integrated into a typical high school class schedule.

How It Works

  • Each student will take two college courses each year, one in the fall and one in the spring, both a part of their regular high school schedule. (View example schedule)

  • Courses will be offered on the PV High School campus and at Watsonville High School in partnership with Cabrillo College

 

  • Students develop college success skills, have access to personalized tutoring, and counselor support

 

  • Flexible scheduling allows students to participate in high school athletics, clubs, and activities

What Parents Need to Know

Your Child Will Graduate High School With College Credit—Free
The PV Advance Program could save families thousands of dollars in future college tuition. Dual enrollment college courses are provided without charge by Cabrillo College for PVUSD students.

A Head Start on College = A Head Start in Life
Students have access and opportunity to complete up to one full year of college or more before graduating from high school. Personalized Support Includes academic coaching, tutoring, and advising to help students and families navigate both high school and college expectations.
